Our Mission:

Forward Fairfax, Inc. is a non-profit organization organized under Section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Its mission is to raise public awareness of critical issues affecting the citizens of the County of Fairfax, Virginia, and to promote the best policies for improving the delivery of government services to these citizens and enhancing the quality of their lives.

Forward Fairfax will focus primarily, but not exclusively, on transportation, education, taxes and the budget, public safety, and social welfare.

Forward Fairfax will publish policy papers on these and other issues and will make these policy papers available on this web site and in periodic newsletters. It will strive to provide accurate and unfiltered information.

Forward Fairfax does not endorse candidates for public office.

Principles

Forward Fairfax believes that Fairfax County government

• should be open, responsive, and accountable;
  
  
• should not take its power to tax lightly. It should spend the people's money efficiently and wisely. It should always look for opportunities to reduce the tax burden;
  
  
• should remember that its citizens moved here to enjoy a suburban lifestyle with good schools, safe communities, and efficient government. It should dedicate its efforts to improving the quality of life in the County;
  
  
• should work diligently to eliminate traffic gridlock. To the extent that it is fiscally responsible to do so, it should provide a mix of transportation alternatives;
  
  
• should ensure that children get a first-class education that prepares them for higher education and/or a career. It should support continuing education. And it should hold the school system responsible for the same wise and efficient use of resources that applies to all other government activities.
